Sewing Sisters Designs Two

My  sister and I grew up in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area.  We learned to sew on an old treadle machine our Mother purchased from an old friend.  By the time we were in our teens, we were making most of our own clothes, including our wedding dresses. Picture three girls and a young mother all sewing most of the time.  As you can imagine, there were always pins on the floor, making it dangerous to walk around without shoes, which of course we did because we're from the South you know. (actually, that's mostly folklore)  It never seemed to fail that our Dad would "find" most of them with a loud yelp! That would send us all scrambling around picking us the stray pins.  Then we would have to lay low for awhile until our Dad recovered from the shock of a straight pin in his foot.
While I still  live on the Mississippi Coast,  near Biloxi, Karen moved many years ago to Masachusetts.  That's why I always told my daughter, "Never date a Yankee!  However, living so far apart hasn't stopped us from enjoying each other's company while we sew. Via Skype, we spend many evenings together sewing and exchanging ideas, and discussing all the mistakes our children make, "bless their hearts"!

Please check out our Etsy shop for fun and unique gifts and gadget pouches.   We are fairly new so ya'll check us out periodically to see our new stuff.

Thank You,
